Like many others, we started with a pet boxer Jake, "Regal Jake of Arkona". As we started our family, my husband and I agreed on getting a dog but NOT what breed! I could not understand the appeal of this mush face dog, the Boxer! So, it was in 1984 that my love affair began and today, with multiple Boxers in our home, I gently remind my husband that HE wanted Boxers and I'm just trying to keep him happy!
Dog shows came into the picture in 1993 with a male brindle puppy from Marburl Kennels and a groomer at my vet's that complimented him and explained dog shows as a weekend experience with dogs and without kids and spouse! What a concept! I was hooked.
That young boy, Leo, managed only 2 single pts during his conformation career but earned his CDX obedience title at the age of 8 1/2!. old! He taught me a lot about dog shows and Boxers.
With a lot of friendly, human intervention I purchased Sophie, a Merrilane bitch, and along with some major help from Terri Galle, she became my first champion.
From
HiMasters
Boxers came a Strider son, Reggie, who finished very
quickly, owner-handled, except for the last few points by our Terri Galle.
Though he lives here at Regal Boxers, I co-own Reggie with his breeder
Maggie Johnson. I will be forever grateful to her for giving me this
chance. Reggie is the silliest and sweetest Boxer and I can't imagine my
life without him.
With Sophie as a foundation bitch and Reggie at stud, I've ventured slowly and carefully into breeding and am proud of what's been produced.
